Abstract
Supply Chain Management is described as designing, planning, execution, control and monitoring of flow of goods and services from the point of origination to the point of consumption. Supplier selection in supply chain management is a multi-criteria decision making problem which includes both qualitative and quantitative criteria. In today’s tremendously competitive environment, supplier selection process is extremely significant for success of any organization. With increasing concern towards environmental protection, industries in western countries have already started considering green factors unlike the Indian chemical industries which are still very much reliable on traditional factors than green factors in analysis and selection of suppliers for their supply chain. In this research study, we have laid down hypotheses that revolve around traditional and green supplier selection factors for supplier selection in supply chain management. The paper also highlights the effect of traditional and green criteria as a whole on the chemical industries.
