Abstract

The use of Lithium-based batteries is constantly rising in many different applications. They have great energy density and discharge rate, however they are quite sensitive regarding its operational limits. For a safe and efficient use of this type of battery, the use of a battery management system is mandatory. These systems are responsible for constant monitoring the battery and determining whether or not it's in operational conditions. In this paper we analyze data from a commercial Lithium-Ion battery pack that presented malfunctioning and propose a different configuration to avoid it.
