Abstract

To meet the requirements of each flow in mobile edge computing (MEC) which coexists flows with different round-trip times (RTTs) and requirements about transmission rate, we previously proposed a bandwidth allocation scheme based on collectable information and showed the effectiveness of this approach in MEC. However, this scheme may degrade link utilization in access networks if it reallocates an unutilized bandwidth to flows through paths without a sufficient bandwidth. In this study, we propose a bandwidth allocation scheme based on residual bandwidth information to improve link utilization in MEC. We show the effectiveness of this approach through simulation evaluations.
