Abstract

Die forging is a competitive method of producing construction elements, such as pistons, crankshafts, gear wheels and gears used in the automotive and aircraft industries, in respect of other production technologies. The reason for this is that the items produced by this technology are characterized by good mechanical properties as well as dimensional and shape precision with a reduced amount of material waste and total cost of production. Additionally, the obtained material structure predisposes them to be used for responsible machine parts working under difficult operation conditions.
