Abstract
AbstractThe recent work investigates the relationship between the characteristics of the Raman spectra and the oxidation temperature of thermal-treated graphite samples in air at various temperatures ranging from 200°Cto 800 °C. Our findings indicate that thermal oxidation of graphite in air leads to the enhancement of the 2D vibration pattern while reducing the intensity of the D vibration pattern. Moreover, we report that chemical reduction begins at 550 °C. Furthermore, our results demonstrate that thermal oxidation causes a decrease in the disorder within the samples. Keywords: Raman spectragraphite oxidehexagonal ringsorder degreeSP2-hybridized carbon Disclosure statementNo potential conflict of interest was reported by the authors.
期刊介绍:
The international and interdisciplinary forum, Fullerenes, Nanotubes, and Carbon Nanostructures , aims at publishing peer-reviewed research of original work in all areas of CARBON research including fullerenes, nanotubes, nanodiamond, graphene, any type of carbon nanostructure and any work dealing with carbon and carbon-related topics. Publishing high quality papers from all fields of carbon science and related topics, the journal intends to provide a means of communication between researchers who are interested in fundamental and applied carbon science issues.
