Abstract

Video games have existed for decades as a source of entertainment but have now found themselves at the center of the rejuvenation of digital resources for healthcare professionals and organizations. Healthcare-related games and their adjunctive technologies (including virtual reality) are poised to provide great educational resources for doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals as well as patients and families. This article discusses video games as educational tools for the medical profession.
