Abstract
Through the operationalization of the conceptual and categorical apparatus developed in social and humanitarian knowledge, as well as a secondary analysis of empirical sociological data, the article presents scientific and non-scientific cognitive practices of perceiving a new social reality through the prism of the “employment” category. The features of the legal, economic and sociological approaches to employment of the population are formulated.
