Abstract
The article analyzes the foreign experience of state regulation of poverty and economic inequality. It is emphasized that the problems of poverty and economic ine-quality are most effectively solved by the welfare state. Models of social states, which have their own characteristics, are considered. It is emphasized that it is important to find a balance in the redistribution of income that ensures high business activity and high rates of economic growth, but at the same time, so that social inequality is not very large.
