Abstract
The article presents a clinical case of penetrating keratoplasty performed in a patient after corneal perforation against the background of dacryoadenitis. The importance of the condition of the precorneal tear film for the normal functioning of the cornea and how dry eye syndrome affects the condition of the cornea before and after surgery are discussed. Relevant and open, in the article, remains the issue of the development of such complications as a corneal ulcer with perforation, against the background of dry eye syndrome that developed more than 10 years after the keratorefractive operation.
