Future of higher education, trends and innovation

Abstract

Transitional and change processes in technology, in companies and businesses, lead to unprecedented integration of social, economic and political powers. Many estimate that these powers will lead to changes, far-reaching influences and even disrupt historical dimensions – that will change the face of universities. The purpose of the current research is to take a broad global look at issues and processes occurring in the present, and asses their effects on trends beginning to appear in universities’ future around the world and in Israel. Discussed topics are varied and different but linked to one another and it is important to address them simultaneously. In addition to a general look at the future of universities, this work discusses social, economic, teaching, educational, academic research, entrepreneurship and innovation topics.
