Abstract
In this article, we propose to read Albert Piette’s La religion de près from a philosophical perspective, in order to lay the foundations for a « philosophy of religion de près ». In his 1999 book, Piette pursues two aims : to describe the life of a parish to show how actions make it possible to make God present, and to defend an epistemology of anthropology that focuses on the beings that are present, and thus on ontology.
