Abstract

habituation is an act or skill that educators do to students consistently so that it becomes a habit that is difficult to leave. The purpose of this study was to determine the habit of reading short letters carried out at UPT SD Negeri 219 Gresik. Researchers use this type of qualitative research. Data collection techniques carried out by researchers are observation, interviews and documentation. Researchers conducted interviews with principals, teachers and students. The results showed that the habit of reading short letters can form good student characters such as discipline, responsibility, religion, courtesy and tolerance. With this habituation, students are expected to be able to practice it well in the school, community and family environment.
