Abstract

The paper reveals the normative content of the «child friendly city» and approaches to its conceptualization. The author shows a lack of research works on the conceptualization and implementation of child-friendly city policy in the context of Asian countries. The paper reveals specifics of the implementation of the concept of a «child-friendly city» in India and China. The author concludes that «child-friendly city» initiatives take different forms and are carried out at different scales and with varying degrees of depth in different countries and cities while sharing fundamental principles. The prospects for further research are associated with the use of an interdisciplinary approach that has undoubted potential in the conceptualization of the «city, friendly to children», allowing to explore its various dimensions.
