Abstract
The article reveals the historical experience of the use of armored vehicles by the internal troops of the NKVD in the fight against Ukrainian nationalist gangs on the territory of Western Ukraine in the third period of the Great Patriotic War. In 1944, due to the fact that the OUN-UPA had the strength to act in large formations, the use of tanks turned out to be the most effective.
