Abstract
In this article is presented and justified the role of education, the human factor and retraining in the implementation of innovation activity. The main purpose is to analyze and conceptually outline the relationship between them. Directions for development of the human factor, education and some basic characteristics of the innovation manager such as necessary cognitive competences, professional skills and personal qualities are indicated. The author’s understanding of modern education, which should be implemented in Bulgarian secondary and higher schools, is presented in order to ensure the training of personnel with an affinity for innovation, creativity and research. The opportunity of using a constructivist approach to change the previous paradigm in education, in which the student is only an object in this process and teaching is reduced to knowledge transfer, and assessment is related to the possibilities of their reproduction, is considered.
