Smears were hypercellular and showed plasmacytoid cells. Nucleomegaly and anisonucleosis were seen. Clumped chromatin with single conspicuous nucleolus was also seen. The patient had a recurrent lesion and cytological atypia. Cytological findings suggested the tumour to be a malignant melanoma.
