Abstract
The pea crab, Pinnotheres onychodactylus Tesch, 1918, is only known on the basis of the types collected from the Moluccas, Indonesia. A re-examination of the type specimens shows that the species is actually a junior subjective synonym of Magnotheres globosus (Hombron & Jacquinot, 1846), a widely distributed Indo-West Pacific species associated with horse mussels of the family Pinnidae.
