Abstract
This article presents a research analysis of an exemplary multi-family housing area from the perspective of its residents. Using a selected Polish housing complex as a case study, an attempt is made to refine the concept of optimal access isochrony as a criterion in the design of residential areas in the future. Simultaneously, the historical background related to the emergence of the concept of the neighborhood unit as an architectural paradigm is outlined.
