Abstract
Taeniastrotos tragus Dojiri & Cressey, 1987 is redescribed on the basis of specimens of both sexes recovered from Trachinocephalus myops (Forster, 1801), and T. synodi sp. nov. is described based on a single specimen of the female recovered from Synodus macrops Tanaka, 1917. The description of the male of T. tragus is the first for the species.
