The influence of deformations of bearing elements on the loading capacity of the lubricating layer is analyzed. It is shown that the level of influence of pillow deformations in bearings with self-aligning pillows depends on the position of the hinge support relative to the pillow. Deformations can increase the loading capacity of the lubricating layer by several times, if the hinge support is located near the middle of the pillow, and the effect of deformations weakens with distance from the middle of the pillow. Abstract
The elastohydrodynamic problem for an thrust sliding bearing with liquid friction is considered.
