Starch granules were examined using laser-scanning microscopy to determine their size. The analysis showed that the hard-grain variety Novosibirskaya 67 and the soft-grain variety Golubka could be the donors of high content of starch A. The hybrid lines SSL-2, SSL-2 and Rodina-M1 can be the donors of high content of starch B. Abstract

Starch is one of the main components of wheat endosperm and is used in the production of food and non-food products. The composition and content of starch largely determines quality of flour in breadmaking. The genotype and environmental conditions affect the quantity and qualitative composition of starch and the ratio of different types of starch granules in wheat endosperm.
