Expressions have been given for threshold values of laser radiation power density: the minimum, at which stationary temperature on the metal surface reaches the hardening temperature, and the maximum, at which the surface temperature in the center of the beam reaches the melting point of the metal. Abstract
The features of thermal processes in steels during laser heating without surface melting have been considered.
