PMMA is known to degrade when exposed to UV radiation, which can lead to a fragile fracture layer on its surface. The study was conducted by exposing standard commercially available PMMA plates to UV-C radiation using a purpose-designed irradiation stand. The samples were tested using a tensile test machine to measure mechanical properties.
