Using data from listed Chinese manufacturing firms from 2007 through 2018, we perform feasible general least squares regression to show that CEOs’ early-life Great Famine experience exhibits a significant and negative impact on CGI. Abstract
Investigating the antecedents of corporate green innovation (CGI) from a CEO perspective has garnered increasing attention in recent years. Our study examines whether and how CEOs’ early-life experience of China’s Great Famine affects CGI. Using data from listed Chinese manufacturing firms from 2007 through 2018, we perform feasible general least squares regression to show that CEOs’ early-life Great Famine experience exhibits a significant and negative impact on CGI.
