Abstract
Foodborne infections continue to pose a hazard to public health, necessitating the development of innovative
technologies for their detection. Bacteriophages are great tools for bacterial detection due to their high target cell
selectivity, intrinsic signal-amplifying capabilities, simple and affordable manufacturing. This overview outlines the
ways in which bacteriophages have been used to accomplish and facilitate precise bacterial identification.
