Applications of HPTLC include the study of biological materials and phytochemicals, the measurement of herbal medications and active components, formulation fingerprinting, and the identification of adulterants in formulations. Using HPTLC, chemicals of forensic importance can be located. It is more sensitive and feasible to run many samples in a little period of time by using a small volume of solvent.
