Abstract

This study examined the impact of visual multimedia intervention in addressing the menace of child marriage in Nigeria. The researchers found that at baseline, the children reported a positive perception of child marriage, low knowledge of its health hazards as well as positive behaviour intention towards it. After the intervention, there was a remarkable difference between children in the control group and those in the treatment group. Children who received the intervention (unlike those who did not receive it) reported a negative perception of child marriage, better knowledge of its health hazards and reduced propensity to engage in child marriage.
