Abstract

In this work we present a numerical study on the effect of wind velocity on the aerodynamic and acoustic behavior of a Savonius-type vertical axis wind turbine (VAWT). The study focuses on the prediction of the torque coefficient for different flow velocities and rotational velocities of the wind turbine.
