Abstract
The outbreak of respiratory illness caused by a novel corona virus
(named “COVID-2019”) was declared a global health emergency on 30
January 2020 and a pandemic on 11 March 2020 by the World Health
Organization (WHO) (1). The function of laboratory medicine emerged
