Abstract
Advanced engineering approaches of the world scientific community to improve the operation of the rolling process and increase productivity by reducing the negative impact of vibration processes are considered. Production efficiency directly depends on the speed, stability and quality of rolling, therefore research to remove the limiting effects of negative oscillatory processes are constantly being carried out in all countries involved in rolling production. Particular attention is paid to vibration suppression using a non-linear control methods used in hydraulic systems, damping devices and the organization of a hybrid, uniform lubrication system for the work rolls.

Steel in Translation is a journal that represents a selection of translated articles from two Russian metallurgical journals: Stal’ and Izvestiya Vysshikh Uchebnykh Zavedenii. Chernaya Metallurgiya . Steel in Translation covers new developments in blast furnaces, steelmaking, rolled products, tubes, and metal manufacturing as well as unconventional methods of metallurgy and conservation of resources. Papers in materials science and relevant commercial applications make up a considerable portion of the journal’s contents. There is an emphasis on metal quality and cost effectiveness of metal production and treatment.
