Abstract
The development of various types of communication without the need for physical contact has brought the progressive atomization of societies. This influenced the way of life, and then the perception and functioning in the living space. The structuring of such space, in terms of private and public space, should enable unforced interpersonal contacts and their consolidation. This was closely related to the sense of security and comfort in the place of residence. This article presents an analysis of zones at the junction of the residential area and the surroundings as a space connecting, not separating, their users. The author's research has proven that this type of space can also have an impact on the formation of neighborly bonds and, subsequently, on the sense of security.
