In contrast, extrinsic motivation was found to have a very weak negative correlation with autonomous learning, indicating its limited role in fostering learner autonomy. Amotivation showed a strong negative correlation with autonomous learning, underlining its adverse effect on students’ engagement and educational outcomes. Abstract
