Questionnement sur la place des bébés issus d’un parcours de maternité traumatique

Abstract

Le centre hospitalier de Mayotte accueille la plus grande maternité de France avec 10 000 naissances par an. Parmi les femmes qui accouchent, 70 % sont d’origine étrangère. Dans ce contexte, de nombreux enfants arrivent au monde en situation d’exil maternel. Le suivi de grossesse, l’accouchement et le tissage des premiers liens sont pris dans un parcours aux potentialités traumatiques, dont les nouveau-nés attestent. Par sa présence, le bébé invite sa mère à venir se raconter et à témoigner de cette histoire traumatique qui vient faire entrave. Il l’invite à mettre en récit ce parcours dans lequel il doit se faire une place.

With 10,000 births a year, Mayotte’s hospital is France’s largest maternity hospital. Of the women who give birth here, 70% are of foreign origin. In this context, many children are born into maternal exile.
