School education for postponing the end of the world? The illusion of sustainable capitalism and the education in the work Ailton Krenak

Abstract

The objective of this bibliographical research was to develop a more rigorous reflection on the contradictions between sustainable capitalism and some of Ailton Krenak's ideas about school education. Mainly because this author is a critic of the destructive process that planet Earth is going through, a result of the predatory mechanisms engendered by marketing practices. The methodology used was qualitative, bibliographic, and sought to answer the question: what is the role of school education in postponing the end of the world? The conclusion is yes, school education is relevant to reconfigure this situation of environmental destruction, but it is necessary to change the ways in which we experience the educational process.
