Abstract
Green finance has emerged as a crucial mechanism for promoting sustainable development and addressing global environmental challenges. This research paper employs bibliometric methods to analyze the evolution, trends, and influential contributions in green finance from 2000 to 2023. Using data from major academic databases such as Web of Science, we identify key themes, influential authors, leading journals, and collaborative networks within the field. Our analysis reveals a significant increase in publications over the past decade, driven by international agreements like the Paris Agreement and the Sustainable Development Goals. Key topics in green finance research include green bonds, sustainable investing, renewable energy finance, and climate finance. We also highlight emerging areas such as the role of fintech in green finance and the impact of regulatory frameworks. Co-authorship and citation analysis indicate growing international collaboration and interdisciplinary research efforts. The network visualization map of journals provides insights into the most influential sources in the field. Despite the rapid growth, challenges such as regulatory uncertainties and the need for standardized metrics remain. The paper concludes with recommendations for future research directions to address these challenges and leverage opportunities for advancing green finance.
