Here, we discuss the pathophysiology, cytokine networks and therapeutic landscape of ‘sterile’ neuroinflammatory diseases such as multiple sclerosis (MS), neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD), neurosarcoidosis and immune effector cell-associated neurotoxicity syndrome (ICANS) triggered by cancer immunotherapy.
