Abstract

Oxide Y2.5Nd0.5Al5O12 with the structure of the garnet mineral has been obtained by coprecipitation after annealing at 1000°C. Fine-grained ceramics has been produced by spark plasma sintering based on synthesized powder. The relative density of the ceramics was 99.1%. The chemical stability of the ceramics has been studied in static mode at 90°C in distilled and mineral water, acidic solution, and alkaline solution. The minimum rates of Y and Nd leaching were 10–10 to ~10–6 g/(m2 day).
