Abstract
In this research, FeCrAlY coatings were subjected to corrosion testing at temperatures between 550 and 600 ℃ in an oxygen-depleted static and flowing LBE. The results demonstrated that the prepared coatings had a dense structure and were firmly bonded to the substrate. The flowing LBE (lead-bismuth eutectic) hastened corrosion, causing the oxide scale to evolve from a compact two-layer structure to a more porous three-layer structure. The LBE corrosion results in a degradation of the coating's bonding performance. The intrinsic processes that drive the transformation of the coating's microstructure and its performance were elucidated.
