Abstract

Methane Electrooxidation

The cover illustration represents the electrochemical oxidation of methane on ceria-based electrodes. The concept uses an ‘infinite staircase’ to depict the challenge of water molecule production relative to carbon dioxide production - a key finding of the article number 2403626 by Hyun You Kim, WooChul Jung, and co-workers. For example, water molecules are portrayed as struggling and slowly ascending the stairs, while carbon dioxide molecules are shown energetically and rapidly moving upward.
