Besides their relatively little toxicity, non-specific immunogenicity and excellent biocompatibility, EXOs also contain bioactive molecules such as proteins, lipids, microRNAs (miRNAs), and messenger RNAs (mRNAs). Their bioactive compounds have anti-inflammatory properties and can speed up wound healing. Various medicinal agents can also be contained within the EXOs. For consideration, studies should contain a clear rationale on the use of (a) given substance(s), have a compelling morphological and structural focus and present novel incremental findings from previous literature.
