Abstract
To identify anti-inflammatory alkaloids, we investigated the aerial parts of cultivated Dendrobium nobile Lindl. Thirteen alkaloids, including a new one, were isolated from the chloroform extract, and their structures were determined using spectroscopic methods. Bioassays assessed the anti-inflammatory activities of these isolates. Compounds 1 and 9 demonstrated inhibition of nitric oxide production in LPS-activated RAW264.7 macrophages, with IC50 values of 16.7 μM and 24.4 μM, respectively.

Manuscripts that detail the isolation of just one new compound are not substantial enough to be sent out of review and are out of scope. Furthermore, where pharmacology has been performed on one new compound to increase the amount of novel data, the pharmacology must be substantial and/or related to the medicinal use of the producing organism.
