Abstract

Nickel(ii) iodide with organic and inorganic additives was tested in the addition of CO2 to oxiranes. The introduction of diethylamine leads to the formation of an effective catalyst, which is, in some cases, capable of completing the reaction in the presence of 1 mol.% NiI2 over a period of 1 h.
