Abstract
Like most journals, BJUI relies on the hard work and dedication of its peer reviewers and we are grateful to them all. Each month the Editorial Team nominates peer reviewers whose reviews have stood out for their quality and timeliness and those selected as the best are highlighted on this page in recognition of their exceptional work.
Vikram M. Narayan, MD, is an Assistant Professor in Urology at Emory University School of Medicine and the Director of Urological Oncology at Grady Memorial Hospital. His clinical practice encompasses complex urologic cancers, with a specific clinical and research focus on bladder and urothelial cancers. Dr Narayan earned his MD with Honours in Research from the University of Florida, followed by a residency at the University of Minnesota and a fellowship in Urologic Oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center. His research is focused on understanding the mechanisms that underlie bladder cancer treatment responses, in an effort to improve the therapeutic options available to patients. Dr Narayan investigates novel therapeutics for urothelial cancers including intravesical gene therapy, immune-based treatment options, and the role of the urinary microbiome in bladder cancer treatment. He has also led projects studying quality outcomes for patients hospitalised after radical cystectomy and has conducted methodologic research studying the conduct of clinical urologic research and the transparent reporting of randomised trials and systematic reviews.
Hannah Warren is a urology resident and PhD candidate at University College London, UK. Her research interest is in the diagnosis, risk stratification and de-escalation of treatment for benign and indolent localised renal tumours. She has experience in the design and delivery of multi-centre clinical trials in urology. Hannah is a member of BURST and associate member of the EAU Young Academic Urologists Renal Cell Carcinoma working group, and enjoys collaborating with colleagues to address important clinical questions.
