Abstract
Peptide Self-Assembly
While coiled coils are well-understood in protein folding, the structural characteristics governing their lateral packing remain challenging. In article number 2406214, Feng Yin, Yuxin Ye, Zigang Li, and co-workers report a stapled pentapeptide that self-assembles into straight α-helical columns arranged in a head-to-tail ‘bamboo’ configuration. The unique assembly process highlighting its potential in creating new nanomaterials through controlled molecular interactions.
