The complete mitogenome length is 16,603 bp and comprises 13 protein-coding-genes (PCGs), 22 tRNAs, 2 rRNAs, and one non-coding control region. A maximum likelihood phylogenetic reconstruction based on 13 PCGs of Leuciscids species confirm the monophyly of the <i>Leuciscus</i> genus. Abstract
This study presents, for the first time, the complete mitochondrial genome of the Common Dace (Leuciscus leuciscus (Linnaeus 1758)), in association with a voucher specimen from the Swedish Natural History Museum.
