Abstract
Rambutan (Nephelium lappaceum L.) is a tropical fruit tree in China with important economic value. In September 2023, a severe anthracnose-like leaf spot disease was observed in a plantation of rambutan in Baoting County, China. The pathogen was identified as Colletotrichum siamense by morphological characters, pathogenicity test and multilocus phylogenetic analysis, combined with ITS, GAPDH, TUB2, CAL and ACT sequences. This is the first report of Colletotrichum siamense causing anthracnose on rambutan in China.
