Abstract
Alexithymia, characterized by difficulties in identifying and expressing emotions, is notably prevalent among athletes. Inspired by a recent study (Graham et al., 2025), this perspective examines its role in mental health challenges, emphasizing barriers to help-seeking. Individuals with alexithymia face an increased risk of mental health disorders, including depression and anxiety.
