Massage et préhistoire. II. Aux temps de l’Homo sapiens (−315 000 ans à −3500 ans)

Abstract

L’Homo sapiens, lignée à l’origine de l’Homme actuel, possède morphologiquement les mêmes caractéristiques que celles de l’Homme moderne. Sa main peut réaliser des gestes précis grâce à un cerveau très développé capable d’inventivité qui lui donne accès à l’art, à la communication, à la notion de vie sociale et à porter de l’intérêt aux autres. Dans ce contexte, l’Homo sapiens a très certainement utilisé le massage a différentes fins : communication avec l’autre, lien social, thérapeutique et peut-être même action magique. Ce type de massage, appliqué dans un but précis, pourrait être qualifié de « primitif réfléchi ».

Homo sapiens, lineage at the origin of modern Man, morphologically has the same characteristics as those of current Man. His hand can make precise gestures thanks to a highly developed brain capable of inventiveness giving him access to art, to communication, to the notion of social life and to interest in others. In this context, Homo sapiens most certainly used massage for different purposes: communication with others, social connection, therapeutic and perhaps even magical action. This type of massage applied for a specific purpose could be described as “thoughtful primitive”.
