Abstract

A Black woman was employed as the director of student support services at Coker University. The director's supervisor was a white female. As part of the director's role, she managed the Carryforward Fund, which provided financial resources for student services. At some point during the director's employment, her supervisor allegedly began to undermine her by taking away her responsibility for the Carryforward Fund. This removal violated U.S. Department of Education grant guidelines, which required that the Director of Student Support Services manage the funds.
