In this study, we will evaluate the safety profile and extrusion rate of the antibiotic-reinforced bone cement implantation when it is decided to place it at the same surgical act as an evisceration indicated for infective endophthalmitis.</div></div><div><h3>Materials and methods</h3><div>Subjects of any age and gender from the Oculoplastic outpatient clinic of Instituto de Oftalmología Fundación Conde de Valenciana, with a diagnosis of infectious endophthalmitis who required evisceration from May throught October 2012 were included.</div></div><div><h3>Results</h3><div>A total of 20 subjects were included, 55% of whom were men (11) 45% women (9), with mean age of 51 up to 80<!--> <!-->years. Abstract
Background and objectives
Endophthalmitis is a type of eye inflammation that affects all structures of the eye and is generally of infectious origin. In cases recalcitrant to intravitreal treatment or posterior vitrectomy, evisceration or enucleation are the preferable options. Materials and methods
